Controlling Mold and Mildew Let's face it! We live in a moist and humid climate. Moisture buildup is the leading cause of mold and mildew in our region. So, to prevent them from building up in your home, download our suggested guidelines here.
Don't Speed The speed limit within the complex is 10 miles per hour, and signs are posted at each entrance. Please, drive slow, and check your speed to be sure you are not exceeding the limit.
Neighborhood Watch! Please watch out for each other's interests here at Woodtique. By keeping an eye out and getting to know your neighbors, and your board members, we can prevent crime at Woodtique.
Stay aware and practice reasonable security measures. Lock your vehicle and do note keep anything of value inside your car or trunk. Another simple suggestion we can all do is "keep our porch lights on!", and promptly report any area lights that are out. Please do so faithfully, for your own safety, as well as your neighbors.
Vacations Please let your neighbor, or Shari, know if you are going to be gone for any extended period of time. Also call the Register Guard to stop or hold delivery of your daily newspaper or ask a neighbor to collect it for you. Papers accumulating at your front door are a sure sign that you are gone and an invitation for someone to break into your unit.
[ F.A.Q - Frequently Asked Questions ]
Q: What are the Boards regulations on landscaping and planting, in general? A: Any owner wanting to plant flowers, trees or shrubs outside their unit/patio area must obtain written permission from the association before doing so. "Beautification" is encouraged, however plants on entry walkways, stairs and front decks are prohibited due to requirements for keeping emergency access clear to all units. Hanging pots are allowed in your back patio as long as it does not upset, endanger, or inconvenience other tenants above or below.
Q:What are the "hours of operation" and general guidelines for the Woodtique pool? A: The pool is open from the beginning of June until the middle of September. During the open season the pool is available from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, daily. Please keep excess noise to a minimum and respect the neighbors around you. NO LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY, and all children under the age of 14 must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Q: How can I obtain a new mailbox key if the prior resident did not leave one behind? A: All new keys must be secured from the post office. Woodtique's post office (based upon our zip code #97405) is the "southside" location, on 33rd Street between Willamette and Donald Streets. You can contact their office at #541/349-9774 to order a replacement key. The post office will assign someone to come and change the lock. After the lock is changed the key will be "on hold" at the station, or you can request that it be brought to your door. For a new resident there is no cost. The keys belong to the address, not the individual, and the post office prefers that the key is left for new residents when people move. It costs the postal department $25.00* each time a lock needs to be changed. If you lose your key and have to order another, you will be charged the full amount. The post office does not keep copies of mailbox keys. (*The above information was provided by a postal employee in Jan. 2002.)
